What This Policy Covers

This Cookie Policy explains how RMVFinder (rmvfinder.com and app.rmvfinder.com) uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies. This policy supplements our Privacy Policy.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. Similar technologies include browser local storage and session storage, which store data directly in your browser rather than as a separate file.

What We Use

RMVFinder uses first-party cookies and browser local storage only at this time. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Essential / Functional Storage

These are necessary for the Service to work. They cannot be turned off without breaking core functionality.

Session Cookies

We may set a session cookie to maintain your connection state while using the web app. This cookie expires when you close your browser.

Analytics

We use PostHog, a product analytics platform, to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. PostHog may set cookies or use local storage to track anonymous usage data such as page views, feature interactions, and session information. PostHog does not sell your data and is used solely for our internal analytics purposes.

You can learn more about PostHog's privacy practices at posthog.com/privacy.

What We Do Not Use (Currently)

  • Advertising cookies — We do not use Google AdSense, Facebook Pixel, or any other advertising or behavioral tracking cookies at this time.
  • Cross-site tracking — We do not track you across other websites.

Future Changes

We may introduce advertising in the future, which may involve third-party cookies. This policy will be updated and you will be notified before any such cookies are introduced. At that point, we will implement a cookie consent mechanism allowing you to accept or decline non-essential cookies.

How to Control Cookies and Local Storage

You can manage or clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings at any time.

Common browser instructions:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear browsing data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
  • Safari: Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, Search and Services → Clear browsing data

Note: Clearing local storage will reset all your saved RMVFinder preferences (RMV URL, ZIP code, locations, date/time settings). You will need to re-enter them the next time you use the Service.

Disabling cookies in your browser may affect some functionality of the Service.

Changes to This Policy

We will update this Cookie Policy when we introduce new technologies or third-party services. The “Last Updated” date at the top will reflect any changes.
